[The video feed shows Pao-lin sitting cross-legged on her bed, her hands resting clasped on her legs. When she speaks, her voice is a bit trembly, but she makes up for it with a big -- though apologetic -- smile.]
Um...to everyone whose things I might've broken or messed up during the experiment...I just wanted to say I'm really sorry. If you want or need my help in fixing things, I'll be glad to make up for the trouble I caused.
[Later in the day, she can be found at the tea shop, drinking tea while reading a novel she borrowed from the library, or at the Battle Dome, further testing out her own capabilities as well as those of the Battle Dome.]

That's so cool! I'm glad to know dragons really exist in at least one world. Does everyone ride dragons like you do, too?
[Action]
It's not common for most people to ride them. But I'm a dragoon, a specialized fighter trained in aerial combat, and in fighting with and against dragons. There are many of them on our world... fewer than there once were, but they're still around. I've always had a strong connection to them.
[Action]
I've always liked dragons too! But they don't really exist in my world, as far as I know. They're just stories.
[She eyes the central console.]
If it's not too much trouble, could you show me what settings you used for your simulation? I want to be able to try it for myself!
[Action]
[Kain always feels... sorrow, for some reason, about the idea of worlds without dragons. He'd not want to see them disappear from his, after all, and it's something that he's always feared happening.]
But yes, of course... I can show you. Be aware that I use very difficult settings. I like a challenge.
[He'd not throw anyone else into the type of impossible levels he likes to use. But still. He goes to the console to pull the right screen up.]
[Action]
Still, she'll follow Kain over to the console to watch how he sets things up.] Um, I'm Pao-lin, by the way.
[Action]
I'm Kain Highwind.
[Action]
[She glances over at the chamber he'd just left.]
A-are you done for the day? [She isn't; she'd just been taking a break from her standard Sternbild simulation. And even if she had considered herself "done", she'd probably want to at least visit a simulation of DRAGONS AND OTHER COOL SHIT.]
[Action]
Not entirely done, no. I don't usually take very long breaks.
[And he usually only takes breaks because he gets guilted into it by Rydia.]
I wouldn't mind returning, if you were curious about the scenario.
[Action]
[She's trying not to show how excited she is about this -- and failing miserably.]
[Action]
I'd be willing. What sort of experience have you had with fighting?
[Mostly so he knows how much he has to be looking out for them both.]
[Action]
[Action]
Good. You'll undoubtedly have to draw upon that experience in there. Dragons are never to be underestimated.
[Action]
Pao-lin heads over to the chamber, eager to start, but she'll wait for Kain to go in first.]
[Action]
[Action]
Wow...they're amazing...
[Action]
[The dragons swoop in, and Kain immediately prepares for their attack, all the while looking for one which he can perhaps try riding. One of the dragons immediately unleashes fire as it swoops down toward them. Kain dodges out of the way, and then leaps upward, high into the air above.]
[Action]
With a deep breath to calm her nerves, she gets moving again, quickly formulating a possible plan. She's going to lure a dragon to the nearest cliff edge so that she can hopefully hop over and hang on. That seems reasonable enough, right?
Pao-lin glows blue as she targets a dragon off to the side of the main flight with her lightning powers. Her bolts are weak and miss pretty wide, but she's not trying to hurt the creature -- just draw its attention to her.]
[Action]
[He comes soaring down to land upon the dragon's back. Now the hard part- especially voiceless- getting the dragon to listen. He does this by patting it reassuringly, and by drawing upon Wind magic, making the winds favor its flight.]
[He's sure to keep an eye out for Pao-lin below, in case she's encountering any trouble.]
[Action]
Once the air clears, she glances up to see the two dragons soaring overhead. At first she thinks that they've forgotten about her after that first pass, but no, they quickly angle themselves downwards, heading straight for her again.
running running running]
[Action]
[Action]
Hey, you! Come and get me if dare!
[The dragon's way ahead of her there. No sooner had she stood up that it flipped about in mid-air to go after her again.
This time, though, Pao-lin doesn't run. She dodges the fire blasts as necessary, but stands her ground until the dragon gets within ideal range, at which point she blasts it with the lightning from her hand, hoping to take it down for long enough that she can climb aboard.]
[Action]
[Action]
Before there's time for either the dragon to get up or Pao-lin to rethink her plan, Pao-lin runs up to it and clambers on, carefully positioning herself so that she's straddling the base of the dragon's neck. She's a bit surprised to find the dragon warm to the touch, and she pats it in wonder.
That's when the dragon regains its senses, thrashing around to try and throw Pao-lin off. It's all the girl can do to hang on as best as she can.]
Re: [Action]
[This, finally, weakens it enough to let Kain's dragon get an upper hand. While things are a little better under control, he glances, surprised and glad to see Pao-lin has gotten onto one of her own. Not bad at all.]
[Action]
Finally, the dragon seems placated enough, and Pao-lin rests a little easier against it as the two glide gently through the skies. Despite her relaxed posture, her heart is thudding against her chest from the adrenaline of first taming the dragon and then actually registering that, omg, she's riding a dragon. This is like one of the best things she's ever gotten to do in Luceti.
After a few minutes, she straightens up and leans carefully to one side, testing out how she can steer the dragon. She's going to try and make her way to where Kain is.]
