[The video feed shows Pao-lin sitting cross-legged on her bed, her hands resting clasped on her legs. When she speaks, her voice is a bit trembly, but she makes up for it with a big -- though apologetic -- smile.]

Um...to everyone whose things I might've broken or messed up during the experiment...I just wanted to say I'm really sorry. If you want or need my help in fixing things, I'll be glad to make up for the trouble I caused.

[Later in the day, she can be found at the tea shop, drinking tea while reading a novel she borrowed from the library, or at the Battle Dome, further testing out her own capabilities as well as those of the Battle Dome.]

Yeah...the experiment made me run around and, um...mess up people's yards and things like that. [Close enough.]

Yeah, but I still feel really bad. It doesn't matter if I didn't mean it -- I still caused some damage and I have to take responsibility for it. [At least there weren't damage fines or anything like that in Luceti.]

[At the tea shop, Smoker is looking for stronger coffee blends when he spots Pao-lin. He gives her a small nod.]

It's a fantasy novel from my world. I was surprised to find it at the library.

Oh? [Tries to get a good look at the title.] Favorite genre?

[She nods.] Well, I usually like reading comics or manga over books, but this is one of my favorite stories ever. [The title reads White Light by Cynthia Yih Shih, and the cover illustration is of a girl standing on a mountain with her arms held out to her sides.] What brings you here? Um, I mean, aside from getting tea.

Actually I was checking to see if they had any stronger coffee. I swear the Malnosso keep putting weaker and weaker blends in the shops.

[Hey, it's that guy from the bakery! The...almost-naked...one. WHAT HAS BEEN SEEN CANNOT BE UNSEEN though really the sight of Luke in just his briefs isn't a bad sight to be able to unsee.]

Ah...it's okay. It was really the experiment's fault for all of that. [She smiles.] Hmm, it's kinda weird, isn't it? None of this is technically our fault, but we still feel like we have to apologize for what we did anyway.

Well... Sure, it wasn't our fault, but we're still the ones who did it. I don't know how many times I apologized for this kind of stuff... [Only three or four times, but it's not like Luke keeps count or anything.]

I guess that makes sense. [She laughs.] At least you weren't destroying other people's things like I was.

[voice] I make being late look cool.

N-No! I wasn't... I-I was just walking around in my underwear...

[And he doesn't find that SO embarrassing; at least, not as much as most people would find it. But he'd still like to get the topic off of himself and how several people have now seen far more of him than he'd like them to.]

What kind of story were you acting out to make you destroy stuff?

[Although he hadn't planned on being around people right after the experiment, Kain does want to go take some of his annoyance out in the Battle Dome on the simulations. So he's heading in there now.]

[In addition to actually training using the simulations, Pao-lin likes to hang out on the viewing area on the second floor, watching the scenarios that other people run in order to learn from them and incorporate ideas from them into her own routines. Also she just likes watching cool shit.

Kain's simulation, which is full of DRAGONS and FLYING and MAGIC, definitely qualifies as "cool shit".

So whenever Kain leaves his simulation chamber, he's going to find a cheerful young girl sitting just outside, wanting to ask him questions about what she saw up in the viewing area.]

[Satisfied that he's beaten enough Golbez simulations today, Kain ends the scenario, leaping down from the back of a mighty dragon, which soon fades away with the rest of the landscape. He heads toward the exit and starts out...]

[...to find himself facing a girl waiting there. He looks a little unsure about this at first. Maybe she's waiting to get in?]

[Pao-lin had been starting to doze off a bit while waiting for Kain (man, why is she so tired today? She hopes she's not getting sick), so she's a little startled -- and kind of intimidated, honestly -- when the door opens and out steps a very tall man in full armor.

Still, she shakes herself into wakefulness and addresses him confidently with a smile.]

Hi! Um, I hope I'm not bothering you too much, I just wanted to ask a couple of questions about your simulation. If that's okay with you...?

[Questions...? While Kain normally wouldn't bother with most strangers' questions, the fact that it was Battle Dome-related makes him pause and decide it could be worth answering.]

[So, he sets aside his lance for the moment. Then looks among his small pouch of supplies for something to write with and on. It's there among the potions that he usually brings along inside. Getting that out, he writes up a response, showing it to her afterward.]
